C T Online Desk: Chief adviser turns down prospects of him contesting in national elections.
Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday said ousted premier Sheikh Hasina should be extradited from India and tried in Bangladesh if she committed crimes.
The Nobel Laureate made the remarks at a climate event held in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
At the event, he also brushed off any possibility of contesting in elections in Bangladesh, when asked about the issue.
When asked about Hasina’s extradition to Bangladesh, the interim government head said, “Why shouldn’t she? If she has committed crimes, she should be extradited and brought to justice.”
