Nahid Islam: No official internet shutdown in Chittagong Hill Tracts

C T Online Desk: Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam has clarified that there is no official internet shutdown in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT).

He dismissed reports of disruptions as exaggerated, adding that internet services in the region remain seamless.

Nahid made these remarks during his visit to the flood-hit South Andharmanik area of Radhanagar in Chhagalnaiya, Feni on Saturday.

He also touched on the persistent conspiracies aimed at destabilizing the country, adding: “The multifaceted conspiracies in the hills and across the country have not stopped. The state is paying utmost attention to these issues.”

Regarding the flood situation in Feni, Nahid Islam said: “Relief operations have been conducted satisfactorily, and rehabilitation efforts are ongoing. Everyone will get a house; no one will be left homeless.”

Commenting on the flood’s cause, he attributed it to the upstream water from India, emphasizing that while some efforts have been made, “what is done well is not always done right.”

During his visit, he also toured flood-affected areas in Jagatpur in Fulgazi.
