C T Online Desk: Former lawmaker Fazle Karim Chowdhury was brought to Chattogram by a helicopter of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from Brahmanbaria on Thursday afternoon.

Sources said the helicopter carrying the ex-MP landed at Dampara Police Lines ground in the port city. Later, he was taken to the Chattogram Central Jail amid tight security to avert any untoward incident.

Chattogram Central Jail Deputy Jailor Md Ibrahim told the Daily Sun that Fazle Karim was brought to the jail around 5:30pm.

He will be produced before a court in the cases filed against him.

Sources said several cases were filed against the former Awami League lawmaker from Raozan constituency on different charges, including for killing students during the Anti-discrimination Student Movement and Chhatra Dal leader Nurul Alam.

Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested three people, including Fazle Karim, from near Akhaura border in Brahmanbaria district on 12 September while they were trying to flee to India.
