Memorandum seeking cancellation of CWASA MD’s contract service

C T Online Desk: Chattogram  WASA managing director (MD) Engr. AKM Fazlullah, who has been on contract service  for 16 consecutive years, has demanded that the appointment of the managing director be canceled, all corruption and irregularities committed during his tenure should be investigated and he should be brought under punishment and ban on emigration has been demanded by the leaders of the anti-discrimination civil society of Chattogram .

On Sunday  last  at Chittagong Circuit House, they gave a memorandum to AF Hasan Arif, Advisor to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and Lands.

At this time, women’s leader Jannatul Ferdous, organizer Abu Hanif Noman, Vice President of CAB Central Committee SM Najer Hossain, Chittagong Metropolitan Joint Secretary Md. Salim Jahangir, student leader Russell Uddin, Raihan Uddin, human rights leader etc. were present on the occasion. .It is mentioned in the memorandum that MD Fazlullah has resorted to irregularities and corruption in every project implemented and ongoing by CWASA.

It is not possible to carry out the corruption investigation properly by keeping him in the chair. He should be released first for a fair investigation into the irregularities.

During the tenure of the previous government, he was engaged in 16 years of contractual appointment in 8  terms . His relatives and WASA officials involved in the irregularities have already started leaving the country. MD Fazlullah is likely to leave the country anytime. The memorandum also called for a ban on his emigration., CAB sources said.
