184 mm rainfall recorded  in Ctg last 24

C T Online Desk: Chattogram  has recorded 184 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours. Patenga Meteorological Office said that there is a possibility of rain in Chittagong on Sunday (September 15) due to the effect of low pressure created in the  Bay.. Incessant rainfall  recorded in Chattogram for the last two days.Coxsbazar met office sources said about 502 mm rainfall recorded there in last 24 hours caused  sufferings of the Coxsbazar residents  and Ukhiya , Teknaf where about 6 people werekilled in separate landslides.

Zahirul Islam, forecast officer of Patenga Meteorological Office, told  that the sky may be partly cloudy. Along with this, light to moderate rain or rain with thunder may occur in some places of Chittagong.

184 mm of rain was recorded in Chittagong in the last 24 hours till 3 pm on Saturday. Due to the low pressure, stormy conditions may occur over the coastal areas of Bangladesh, North Bay of Bengal and sea ports. As a result, sea ports have been asked to show local warning signal number 3 and river ports have been asked to display naval warning signal number 3.

Meanwhile, due to the rain, waterlogging occurred in the low-lying areas of Chittagong. Water accumulates on low roads due to non-availability of drainage channels or obstructions. The city dwellers have to suffer at large.
