26 pardoned Bangladeshis return home from UAE

C T Online Desk: With the second batch, a total of 40 Bangladeshi migrants have returned home from the country as of Friday.

The second group of 26 Bangladeshi migrants, pardoned by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, returned home by a flight of IndiGo, an Indian Airlines, on Friday noon.

The first batch of 14 Bangladeshi migrants pardoned by the UAE president on the same ground returned home on 7 September.

With the second batch, a total of 40 Bangladeshi migrants have returned home from the country as of Friday.

Earlier, a total of 57 Bangladeshi migrants were convicted by the UAE Federal Court for holding protest rallies in solidarity with the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Bangladesh.

Later, Prof Muhammad Yunus, interim government chief, talked to the UAE president in this connection.
