Anisul, Salman placed on fresh 5-day remand

C T Online Desk: On August 20, Masuma, mother of the victim, filed the murder case with Badda Police Station against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 179 others.

A Dhaka court on Thursday placed Anisul Huq, former law minister, and Salman F Rahman, private industry affairs adviser to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, on five-day fresh remands in a murder case.

The case was filed over the death of Suman Sikdar, 31, in Dhaka’s Badda during quota protests on July 19.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Nurul Huda Chowdhury passed today’s order in the case around 7:00am after police produced the duo before the court with a 10-day fresh remand prayer, a sub-inspector working in the court told The Daily Star.
