C T Online Desk: Hasnat Abdullah, a key coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement who was injured in an attack by Ansar members, has been transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka for advanced treatment.
He was moved from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) to the to CMH at 2:30pm on Monday, Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman, the director of the hospital, said.
“There is a lot of crowd here. We are unable to control it—hundreds of people. Hasnat Abdullah needs rest. He will need to be observed for another 48 hours, after which a decision will be made regarding whether he can be discharged from the hospital.”
Hasnat Abdullah was injured during a clash between students and Ansar members near the Secretariat in the capital on Sunday.
At least 40 people, including students, Ansar members, passersby and journalists, had been injured in the clash, all of whom were receiving treatment in the emergency department of DMCH.
