Nahid: Those behind violence will face justice

C T Online Desk: Nahid Islam, the interim government’s adviser on posts, telecommunications, and information technology, said that those responsible for the brutal killings of students and the public will be held accountable under the law.

He made these comments after the namaz-e-janaza for Sajid, who was killed by police gunfire during the anti-discrimination student protests at Bilkukdi village in Dhanbari upazila, Tangail, on Thursday morning.

“Today, Sajid’s sacrifice has brought us new freedom. The people of Bangladesh will forever remember Sajid’s bravery and dedication to the country. From now on, I will assume full responsibility for Sajid’s family.”

On August 8, Nahid Islam was sworn in as an advisor to the interim government, serving as the key coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement.

Later, he was appointed an adviser to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology.
