C T Online Desk: Two teenage boys died after drowning in Kaptai lake in Rangamati district on Friday afternoon.
The deceased are Arnab Chowdhury, 15, and Adison Saha, 16, students of Shah Multilateral High School in the town.
Rangamati Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Ali confirmed the incident.
The OC said: “The bodies were kept at a hospital morgue.”
On Friday afternoon, Arnab, Adison, and Shibam went to bathe in Kaptai Lake, adjacent to the Art Council Colony. But none of them knew how to swim. At one point, the three boys drowned in the lake’s water while taking a bath.
Later, local people rescued the trio from the water.
They were brought to Rangamati General Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Arnab and Adison Saha dead.
