C T Online Desk: A three-day musical event, titled “Swadhinata Sangeet Festival” kicked off at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on March 10.
The festival is being held in celebration of the birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the country’s independence.
An opening ceremony took place on Thursday, at 5pm in Shilpakala’s Nandan Moncho, featuring performances by the Rabindrasangeet Shilpi Sangstha. Prominent musician and theatre artiste Ameena Ahmed led the performance.
The festival will conclude on Saturday, March 12.
