C T Online Desk: Chittagong Divisional Health Director Hasan Shahriar Kabir said that the government is working relentlessly to improve the quality of medical services. The government has appointed 10,000 doctors in the last two years to increase capacity at the Sadar as well as Upazila level.
Physicians need to be more sincere in ensuring the desired health care of the people.
He was speaking at a reception for 141 doctors recruited in the health cadre at the conference room of the city’s divisional health director on Tuesday evening.
He said those who have been posted in the upazila should stay there and deliver health services to the doorsteps of the people. Patients cannot be left unattended. Medical college education should be used in the workplace. If treatment of any patient is not possible in the Upazila Health Complex, he should be sent to Medical College Hospital or Sadar Hospital for better treatment.
Chaired by Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Ilias Chowdhury and conducted by District Health Supervisor Sujan Barua, the special guests were the Superintendent of Chittagong 250-bed General Hospital Dr. Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Chittagong District Branch President Prof. Mujibul Haque Khan and General Secretary Faisal Iqbal Chowdhury were present.
