Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar special train to resume services from June 12

C T Online Desk: On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, Bangladesh Railway has decided to run 10 pairs of Eid special trains, one pair of which is the “Cox’s Bazar Eid Special Train” on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar route to facilitate the train journey of the Eid holidaymakers.

This information is known from the action plan taken by Bangladesh Railway on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

The Cox’s Bazar Eid Special Train which was launched last Eid-ul-Fitr was scheduled to run for a total of 14 days before and after Eid, but in view of the demands of the passengers, the train was scheduled to run till June 10 after several extensions.

However, the train movement was cancelled on May 30 due to the shortage of engine and loco master from the mechanical department. There was outrage among the passengers because of this decision.

General Manager of Eastern Railway Mohammad Nazmul Islam said: “Cox’s Bazar special train is not a regular train. It will be launched on June 12 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

“After 10-12 days movement will stop again. Special train means that it will run at any time and stop again,” he added.
