SSC Results: Girls outshine boys in pass rate, GPA-5

C T Online Desk: The pass rate for female students stood at 84.47%, surpassing that of male students, which is 81.57%.

Girls have outperformed boys in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations, achieving higher pass rates and a greater number of GPA-5 distinctions.

Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel presented the detailed results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations at a press conference in the Ministry of Education’s conference room on Sunday. Before that, he handed over the summary of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban.

This time, 83.04% of students passed the secondary examinations. Among them, 8,06,553 male students and 8,65,600 female students passed. The pass rate for female students stood at 84.47%, surpassing that of male students, which is 81.57%.

On the other hand, a total of 182,129 students have obtained GPA-5 in the SSC and equivalent exams this year. Among them, 98,776 are female students, while 83,353 are male students. This indicates a notable achievement gap, with 15,423 more female students achieving the highest GPA compared to their male counterparts.

This year, around 20, 24,192 students of 29,735 educational institutions appeared in the SSC and equivalent examinations at 3,700 centers across thye country.

Starting on 15 February last, the exams concluded on 12 March.
