Different Bangladesh upazilas celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr along with Saudi Arabia

C T Online Desk: The holy Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the two major Muslim festivals, is being celebrated in some upazilas of Dinajpur, Tangail and Moulvibazar districts amid religious fervour in line with Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.

In Dinajpur, Eid-ul-Fitr prayers were offered at a party centre at the Charubabu intersection in the city at 7:40am.

About 250 including men, women and children participated in this jamaat led by Maolana Md Abdur Razzaq.

The Eid-ul-Fitr prayers were also held in Dinajpur Sadar, Chirirbandar, Birol, Kaharol and Birampur upazilas of Dinajpur with the participation of thousands of Muslims in the morning.

Hundreds from around 20 to 22 villages offered Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Khairbari Mirzapur Jame Masjid in Jotbani Union.

In 2007, some Muslims of the upazilas started fasting and other religious activities keeping consistent with Saudi Arabia.

In Moulvibazar, hundreds of Muslims also participated in the holy Eid-ul-Fitr prayers where special supplications were made for the people of the country.

The Eid congregation was held at Ahmed Shabista in the Circuit House area at 7:30am.

The Eid prayer was led by Imam Abdul Maufiq Chowdhury.

In Tangail, people from 40 families of Shashinara village, Delduar performed Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at 8am.

Hafez Ershad Hossain led the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers as the imam.

In Bangladesh, numerous Muslims celebrate Eid in sync with Saudi Arabia, maintaining a long-standing tradition across various communities in the country.
