Bangladeshi stabbed to death in South Africa

C T Online Desk: A Bangladeshi youth was stabbed to death by a group of miscreants in front of his shop at Fulguz in South Africa on Friday.

The deceased is Md Emraz Hossain Sumon, 28, of Jagotpur village under Daganbhuiyan upazila in Feni.

The deceased’s cousin, Sheikh Farid Uddin Aktar, said that Sumon had migrated to South Africa a decade ago in search of employment.

Sumon became involved in an altercation with a group of miscreants who demanded money from him, resulting in Sumon being stabbed, he added.

Locals rushed him to a hospital where an on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Abul Khayer, father of the deceased, told media that Sumon, who has a five-month-old son, visited Bangladesh around one and a half years ago.

He urged the government to facilitate the process to bring back the body of Sumon, who was third among seven siblings.

Daganbhuiyan police officer-in-charge Abul Hashim mentioned that they have been informed of Sumon’s death, reports media.
