Average 500 hits for each railway ticket

C T Online Desk: Bangladesh Railway on Friday witnessed record hits on its website on the sixth day of advance ticket sale for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, an average of 500 hits for each railway ticket.

Tickets for April 8 have been on Friday ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Some 56,013 out of 162,643 seats of intercity trains across the country have been sold in 10 hours from 8am to 6pm.

Meanwhile, 30,270 out of 32,586 seats of Eid journey from Dhaka have been sold.

Bangladesh Railway ticket sales subsidiary Shohoz-Synesis-Vincen JV confirmed this information.

Ticket aspirants hit 12.8 million times in half an hour after the sale of western zone tickets started at 8am on the website and app.

Around 9.6 million hits were made on the website in the first half hour to get the eastern zone tickets at 2pm.

According to calculations, a total of more than 22.4 million hits have been received on the website within half an hour of the sixth day of ticket sales, which is highest in previous days.

It has an average of more than 500 hits per ticket.
