‘Social media is the biggest challenge to election process’

C T Online Desk: Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar has identified that social media is the biggest challenge to the election process.

“It is a global challenge, and we need to solve it,” he said on Monday while interacting with a delegation of Bangladeshi journalists who are visiting New Delhi on the invitation of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

CEC Rajiv Kumar said, “The Indian political parties realise very well that not participating in elections may result in the abolishment of their entity. So they participate in the election with enthusiasm, and each political party has deep trust in the Election Commission.”

Regarding the observer, the CEC said, “Agents of political parties are the keenest observers of the election. Still, we invite foreign observers to introduce the Indian election system to them.”

In his introductory speech, Rajiv Kumar described the whole election system of India.

The CEC also stated that the credibility is the key to an election.
