C T Online Desk: A spirited bowling effort ensured Afghanistan break their streak of 14 straight defeats in the World Cup as they beat defending champions England by 69 runs in their third match of the tournament at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday.
After posting 284 on the backs of fifties from Rahmanullah Gurbaz (80) and Ikram Alikhil (58), Afghanistan bundled out England for 215 in 40.3 overs.
The Afghan spinners were at the forefront as Mujeeb Ur Rahman (3), Rashid Khan (2), and Mohammad Nabi (2) picked up seven wickets between them.
