Bangladesh ambassador calls on Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan

C T Online Desk: Newly appointed Bangladesh Ambassador Dr Mohammad Monirul Islam paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Aloyev at the latter’s office on Friday.

They discussed the current status, progress and future approaches of Bangladesh-Uzbekistan bilateral relations.

The Uzbek minister emphasised on the development of bilateral relations with Bangladesh and called on both parties to be more active in implementing the proposed road map.

Describing his visit to Bangladesh in May 2023 as very fruitful, he expressed hope that trade and investment cooperation with Bangladesh will be deepened in the coming days, especially in the ready-made garments and pharmaceutical industry sectors.

The ambassador Monirul Islam sought the support of the Uzbek minister in expanding the existing cooperation between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan in the fields of textile, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, tourism, education and health.

Monirul Islam also highlighted the need to organise a bilateral visit at the highest level between the two countries and sought the assistance of the minister of Uzbekistan in this regard.
