C T Online Desk: ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury Foundati8on has stood beside the people of South Chittagong affected by the terrible floods caused by incessant heavy rains and landslides for the past few days. Faraaz Karim Chowdhury is the chairman of Fazle Karim Chowdhury Foundation and a young politician. On this occasion, he handed over the relief materials to Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman for distribution among 1500 flood-affected families at Chittagong Circuit House on Thursday morning, August 10.
It is known that Faraaz Karim Chowdhury announced to stand beside people of different upazilas of South Chittagong through his official Facebook page status on Wednesday evening. After that, he stayed up till late at night to directly supervise when the process of buying and packing foodstuff for the flood victims started in front of Ishaq & Brothers, next to the new Chaktai Vera market in Chittagong city. On his call, more than a hundred volunteers participated in this program. Among these relief items sent to the people of the flood-affected areas are clothes, pupped rice ,chra. candles, sugar, biscuits, dishwash, mineral water, safety match and other essential commodities.Additional District Commissioner (General) Rakib Hassan and other officials of the district administration were present while handing over these relief items to the Deputy Commissioner.
