C T Online Desk: The health condition of BNP Standing Committee Member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, who was undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital, has started to improve.
His son Dr Khandaker Maruf Hossain confirmed the information on Saturday.
However, the doctor has not confirmed anything about when he will fully recover. He will have to remain under close observation for a few more days, they said.
Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has been receiving treatment under the supervision of Prof Yu Shen Shai, senior consultant, Department of Neurology, National University Hospital, Singapore, since July 3. Already, a ‘sphenoid wing meningioma’ tumor has been found on the surface of his brain in multiple tests.
He was initially advised to undergo surgery or upfront radiotherapy, but is currently being treated with upfront radiotherapy due to the high risk of surgery and general anaesthesia associated with the medical condition.
On June 16, the veteran politician was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital due to a brain stroke at about 3am.
Later, on the advice of doctors, Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain left for Singapore on the morning of June 27 for better treatment. His son and member of the National Executive Committee of BNP Khandaker Maruf told Dhaka Tribune that even though his father was undergoing treatment in Singapore, he wanted him to return to Bangladesh quickly and get involved in party work.
