Ctg  by-election: 1400 CC cameras installing in polling centers

C T Online Desk: CC cameras are being installed in the polling stations to ensure smooth polling in Chittagong-10 constituency byelection. . The Election Commission has already started the installation of 1 thousand 407 CC  cameras.The election is scheduled to be held on July 30 next.

The Election Commission said that if the candidates and their supporters try to influence the Center on the day of the polls, action will be taken by watching the CCTV cameras. In order to monitor the situation of the polling station on election day, the polling station number and room number will be written on the surrounding cloth of the marking press (secret room) of the polling station.

So that the polling station number and room number can be clearly understood from the monitoring room on the CC camera. Necessary instructions will be given to the presiding officer and assistant presiding officer by looking at the polling station and room number. Even orders of arrest may come depending on the circumstances. Earlier, the EC caught voting irregularities by installing CCTV cameras in Gaibandha elections.

Regional Election Officer and Returning Officer of Chittagong Mohammad Hasanuzzaman told that on the day of polling, the situation of the polling station will be monitored by CCTV cameras from the conference room of the Election Commission and Returning Officer. There will be strict vigilance to ensure that no candidate can spread heat in the polling station.

Chittagong-10 Constituency with ward number 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 24, 25 and 26 of Chittagong City Corporation. Dr. Afsharul Amin  of  Awami League in the last three parliamentary elections  won this seat three times in a row. The seat fell vacant on June 2 after the death of Afsharul Amin.
