Hasan Mahmud visits Visva Bharati University

C T Online Desk: Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud visited Bangladesh Bhaban at Visva Bharati University in India on Wednesday.

‘Bangladesh Bhaban’ houses a museum showcasing Rabindranath Tagore’s association with Bangladesh, Indo-Bangla relations, and the Liberation War of Bangladesh.

University registrar Ashoke Kumar Mahato welcomed Dr Hasan Mahmud accompanied by his wife Nuran Fatema. Dr Hasan presented a souvenir of boat symbol to the registrar of Visva Bharati University.

Environmentalist Dr Hasan, a university teacher, also visited the library at Visva Bharati University and exchanged views with faculties. Bangladesh deputy high commission’s first secretary Ranjan Sen was also present on the occasion.

Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud is scheduled to inaugurate the fifth Bangladesh film festival along with West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu and film director Goutam Ghoseat Nandan of Kolkata on Thursday.

There will be showed 24 Bangladeshi movies while film stars Ferdous Ahmed, Dilara Hanif Purnima, Aruna Biswas, Nusraat Faria, Apu Biswas, Mamunuzzaman Mamun and Goutam Saha are taking part at the festival.
