C T Online Desk: The unofficial results of the by-polls to Dhaka-17 constituency have been declared.
Awami League nominated candidate Mohammad Arafat became victorious in the elections bagging 28, 816 votes.
His nearest rival and independent candidate Md Ashraful Hossain alias Hero Alam got 5,609 votes.
Returning officer Monir Hossain Khan declared the results at Banani Bidyaniketan School and College in the capital on Monday.
He said some 11.51 percent votes were cast in the by-polls to Dhaka-17.
