C T Online Desk: Indian Navy ship ‘INS KILTAN’ has arrived in Bangladesh on a four-day goodwill visit. When the ship arrived in the waters of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Navy ship ‘Abu Bakar’ greeted her.
Commander Chittagong Naval Region Chief Staff Officer Captain Faiz welcomed the ship on its arrival at the Chittagong port jetty on Monday (June 19). During this time, the well-equipped navy band played the band in traditional style.
Navy officials along with representatives of the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh were present to welcome the ship.
The ship carries 20 officers, 171 sailors and 5 civilians. Commander Arjit Pandey is in charge of the 110 meter long ship.
During the stay in Bangladesh, the captain of the ship will have a courtesy meeting with the Commander Chittagong Naval Region, Commander BN Fleet and the Chairman of Chittagong Port. The visiting ship’s officers and sailors visited BNS Isakhan, Bangladesh Naval Academy, School of Maritime Warfare and Tactics (SMWT). Apart from this, he will visit the ‘Ashar Alo’ school established for children with special needs run by the Navy and various historical buildings of Chittagong. On the occasion of World Yoga Day 2023 on June 21, Bangladesh Navy members will be held at Chittagong port jetty to discuss the benefits of practicing yoga while at sea, as well as practical exercises on how to maintain one’s health through yoga. The Indian High Commissioner and members of the armed forces and people from various professions will be present at the yoga exercise.Those concerned hope that the ship’s visit to Bangladesh will further strengthen the existing friendly relations between the navies of the two countries.
