C T Online Desk: Bangladesh is poised to become a smart nation by 2041, thanks to the long-term development strategy initiated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, according to a retired senior secretary of the government.
Shahid Ullah Khandaker, entrusted with implementing development activities in Sheikh Hasina’s constituency of Gopalganj-3, expressed confidence that the vision of a “Smart Bangladesh” would soon become a reality.
Khandaker made the comments during a press briefing held on Wednesday to mark the visit of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) delegation to the shelter project and floating cultivation in Devgram, Kotalipara.
He emphasized that the transformation of Bangladesh into a developed country by 2041 would showcase the nation’s development prowess to the international community.
Impressed with the inclusive development approach, the ICIMOD delegation expressed their satisfaction and said they would follow the prototype of Bangladesh’s shelter project and floating bed cultivation.
The press briefing was attended by various officials, including Gopalganj’s Additional Deputy Commissioner, Golam Kabir, Kotalipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ferdous Wahid, Municipality Mayor Matiar Rahman Hazra, Agriculture Officer Nitul Roy, Radhaganj union chairman Veem Bagchi, Ghagor Bazar Bonik Somity general secretary Mostafa Kamal, and Upazila Chatra League general secretary Rafiqul Islam.
