C T Online Desk: President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have congratulated King Charles III and Queen Camilla on their historic coronation.
In separate congratulatory messages, they hoped that under King Charles III’s reign, the people of the United Kingdom will continue to enjoy an ever-flourishing future in peace and prosperity.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin wished King Charles III and Queen Camilla a long, prosperous and happy reign.
“I look forward to further deepening the friendship and cooperation between our two commonwealth nations working in close concert with Your Majesty,” he wrote.
“The First Lady and I eagerly look forward to welcoming Your Majesty and Her Majesty Queen Camilla for a historic Royal visit to Bangladesh,” the head of the state added in the letter.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who attended the coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey on Saturday, extended heartiest felicitations to King Charles III and Queen Camilla on their historic coronation on behalf of her government and the people of Bangladesh.
“It would be an honour for me to work with Your Majesty to ensure the friendship between our two Commonwealth Nations continues to grow from strength to strength in the coming days,” she wrote.
“I wish Your Majesty and Her Majesty Queen Camilla, the very best of health, happiness, and long life and the friendly people of the United Kingdom continued peace, progress, and prosperity,” the head of the government added in the congratulatory letter.
King Charles Philip Arthur George was formally crowned king in Britain’s first coronation of a male monarch since 1937 on Saturday.
The 74-year-old has been King since his mother Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022, after seven decades as her heir apparent.
