Hashem, Zia elected CBA President, GS

C T Online Desk: Coordinating Council candidate Abu Mohammad Hashem has been elected president of the Chittagong District Bar Association. He got 2 thousand 93 votes.

The nearest rival Nazim Uddin Chowdhury of Oikya Parishad got 2,058 votes.
AHM Ziauddin of the Coordinating Council has won the post of General Secretary. He has won the post three times in a row. This time he got 1,957 votes. The nearest rival Abdus Sattar Sarwar of Oikya Parishad got 1,626 votes and independent candidate Kishore Kumar Das got 562 votes.

The results were announced by the Election Commission on Thursday (February 10) after counting the votes. Earlier, polling was held peacefully from 9 am to 4 pm.

Chief Election Commissioner Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said the coordination council has won 10 posts including president-general secretary. Oikya Parishad has won 9 posts including senior vice-president. This time there were 39 candidates for 19 posts. There were 5 and a half thousand voters. 4 thousand 193 people voted.
