Unscrupulous traders  want to destabilize commodity market: CCCI

C T Online Desk: The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a meeting with traders to stabilize the market of daily necessities during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan at the Bangabandhu Conference Hall at the World Trade Center on Monday. Under the chairmanship of president Mahbubul Alam, the chief guest was the divisional commissioner Md. Aminur Rahman.

Special guests were Metropolitan Police Commissioner Krishna Pad Roy, Deputy Inspector General of Chittagong Range Anwar Hossain, Deputy Director of Local Government Department Badiul Alam and Deputy Director of National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate Mohammad Faiz Ullah. Besides, Chittagong Custom Joint Commissioner Mohammad Tafshir Uddin Bhunya, Chamber Vice-President Syed Mohammad Tanveer, Chamber Directors A. K. M. Akhtar Hossain, Md. Ahid Siraj Chowdhury (Swapan), former director Mahfuzul Haque Shah, vice-president of Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber A. M. Mahbub Chowdhury, C&F Agents Association General Secretary Kazi Mahmud Imam Bilu, Iqbal Bahar Saberi, Salamat Ali, Saleh Ahmed Suleman, Jahangir Alam, Tauhidul Alam, Abul Kashem, Mahbub Rana, Zainal Abedin Kanchan, SM Mohiuddin spoke.

The chief guest said that a country runs on the combination of businessmen, politicians and bureaucrats. But if there is no coordination between these three, we will be in danger. So coordination between these three wheels is essential. Many want to destabilize the market with excessive profits and expired and adulterated products around the month of Ramadan. The administration will take action against those who engage in such activities or create artificial crisis.
