C T Online Desk: On the occasion of upcoming Ramadan, 40 monitoring teams will work in upazilas and cities to control the market. Regular monitoring will be done by government agencies and market committee representatives under the leadership of an executive magistrate of Chittagong district administration.
Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman said these things in the discussion meeting held on Wednesday in the conference room of the Chittagong district administrator to maintain the free supply of daily necessities and stable commodity prices.
He said that the mobile court will be strict in controlling the consumer goods market in the upcoming Ramadan to prevent product quality, supply and adulteration.
We will regularly monitor the wholesale and retail markets, so that no one else can take advantage by increasing the price of goods.
He further said that price hike, hoarding and black market will not be tolerated in any way. Disciplinary action will be taken only if product quality and price are not ensured. There will be a control room in the district administration office through which every aspect of Ramadan can be controlled. Where Consumer Rights and BSTI will collaborate.
The Deputy Commissioner said that everyone should display the market price list. All government instructions must be obeyed. Quality iftar items should be sold. The prices of fish, meat and vegetables cannot be increased in any way.
We will conduct a market survey every month. Then I will see how much the price of any product increases. I will take action immediately.
