On International Language Day, Paraikora Nayantara High School organizes a unique event ‘Bhashar Rong’

C T Online Desk: On the occasion of International Mother Language Day on the occasion of International Mother Language Day, a discussion meeting titled Education and Language Competition and Color of Language was completed in the school hall room on February 21, 2023 by the initiative of Paraikora Nayantara High School, a traditional educational institution of South Chittagong and in collaboration with the International Mother Language Day Program (Ottawa, Canada). Conducted by the school’s assistant teachers Abdur Rahim Saikat and Abdun Noor Tushar, under the chairmanship of the head teacher Dilip Kumar Nandi, prominent poet and former dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Chittagong University, Professor Hossain Kabir, was present as the chief guest. Education researcher, teacher trainer, Dr. Shamsuddin Shishir was present as the main keynote speaker, coordinator of IMLD Global Campaign, Ottawa, Canada Saurabh Barua was present as special speaker, Erfan Chowdhury, chief coordinator of that day’s program and assistant Headmaster teacher of the school were present . Educationist member of the school management council Shambhunath Chakraborty , assistant teacher of the school Mohammad Mohsen, Shelly Barua, Kamal Kanti Das, Sanjay Bhattacharya, Tuhin Roy Chowdhury, Hossain Farooq, Dil Mohammad, Mozammel Haque, Jannatul Mawa, Md. Rezaul Karim, Rajib Dhar, Pradeep Mallik, Pratap Chakraborty, Shilpi Barua, Bahadur Mia, Abdur Sukkur, Kaushar Mia, Saurabh Chowdhury, Shamshul Islam, Salma Begum, and all the students and staff of the school were present. An exceptional competition titled ‘Mayer bhashay amar kotha’ started at 11 am with school students. A passage is read aloud in standard pronunciation, with the contestant having to recite the passage in the vernacular within a time limit. Where 1st, 2nd, 3rd places are determined and prizes are awarded courtesy of IMLD. In the same way, storytelling contests and painting contests are conducted in school campus. After the program of the 1st phase, the invited guests participated in the discussion. The speakers in the discussion said, Our reading and writing language is Bengali, and our mother’s language, neighbor’s language, people’s language, mind language is Chittagonian. This language should also be respected. So never hesitate to speak regional language. At the same time, to speak fluently in Bengali, you have to increase your practice in writing, speaking. We express our feelings in different languages, in different words, in different colors and this is the color of language. At the end, the program was concluded by handing over the mementos to the invited guests and the speech of the president.
