The body was recovered from the deep ditch of Chandranath Hill

C T Online Desk: The fire service members recovered the body of a person from a deep ditch in Panighata area of ​​Chandranath Pahar in Sitakunda.

On Tuesday (February 21st) around five o’clock in the afternoon, the body was handed over to Sitakunda police station.

 

The person’s name is Ashutosh Nath (45). He was an employee of Muradpur Union Decorator.

Nurul Alam, senior station officer of Sitakunda Fire Service Station, said that the body was stuck with a tree in a ditch about 200 feet deep. As the path was impassable, the rescue team members climbed down the rope and put the dead body on the stretcher and lifted it up by tying the rope. He is believed to have died three days ago. The body is mutilated.

Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, the locals informed the Shiv Chaturdashi Mela Committee and the police after seeing the body.

Sources of Sitakunda police station informed that four persons were reported missing in the police station for three days during the fair. The body of one of them was recovered. Three people, two of them women, are missing.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sitakunda Police Station Tofail Ahmed said that the body has been sent to the morgue for post-mortem to find out the cause of death. A case of wrongful death has been filed in this regard.
