Canada road crash: Bodies of 2 students to reach Bangladesh Friday

C T Online Desk: Bodies of two Bangladeshi students – Arian and Angela Baroi – who were killed in a road crash in Canada will be brought back to Bangladesh on Friday.

Confirming the development, ATM Alamgir, Arian’s father said the necessary documents have been submitted and office work is completed to bring his body.

“The first namaz-e-janaza of Arian and Shahriar Khan will be held on Monday at a mosque in Toronto. The Bengali community and Bangladeshi diaspora living in different parts of Canada will participate. After the namaz-e-janaza, their bodies will leave for Bangladesh on Wednesday. Their bodies will arrive in Bangladesh on Friday around 12:30am.” he said.

“Arian’s nama-e-janaza in Bangladesh will be held at the Nakhalpara sports ground after Friday’s Jummah prayer. Then he will be buried in the family graveyard near the capital’s airport area,” he added.

Meanwhile, the body of another Bangladeshi, Angela Baroi, who lost her life in the same accident, may also arrive in the country next Friday or Saturday, Shaugat Ali Sagor, editor-in-chief and publisher of Canada-based news media “Notundesh”, said citing family sources.

Meanwhile, noted Bangladeshi singer Kumar Bishwajit has said the condition of his son, Nibir Kumar, who sustained critical injuries in the road accident in Canada, has improved and now he is out of danger.

Nibir is undergoing treatment in a local hospital in Toronto following the road crash in Ontario.

Three Bangladeshi students were killed in the accident that took place on Highway 427 southbound ramp to Dundas Street West in Ontario on February 13.

The deceased students are Shahriar Khan, Angela Baroi and Arian.

They were all living in Toronto on study permits from Bangladesh, said Ontario Provincial Police in a tweet.

According to the police, Nibir Kumar was driving the car involved in the accident. The rest were passengers. Two died on the spot while another died after being taken to hospital.
