C T Online Desk: The second largest beach in the country is Parki beach in Anwara upazila of Chittagong. Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Sukesh Chandra inspected the construction work of the modern tourism complex constructed at a cost of Tk 61.25 crore.
Project Director (Deputy Secretary) Mahmud Kabir, Deputy Secretary Saiful Hossain, Project Engineer Asim Shil, Executive Engineer Nazrul Ahmed, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tanvir Hasan Chowdhury, Barshat Union Chairman MA Qayyum Shah and UP Member Touhidul Islam were present.
It is learned that 17 installations will be constructed in this project. There are 14 modern cottages. Of these, 4 are double duplex cottages and 10 are single cottages. A multipurpose building with four floors. It will have a tourist office on the ground floor, two shops on the second floor, a restaurant, two bars on the third and fourth floors, and a 250-seat convention hall. 1 three-storey service block with 35 single bachelor service rooms for tourists with special arrangements for student accommodation and 44 rooms for service staff of the complex. A wash block, with separate arrangements for men and women. Also a lake, a suspension bridge, two picnic sheds, a cooking shed. A playground with volleyball, table tennis, badminton and car parking facilities. There will be gardens in front of each building.Asim Sheel, an engineer in charge of the tourism corporation, said Parki would be a world-class tourist city once the project was completed. The construction work was a little slow because of Covid. Already 40 percent of the work has been completed. The rest of the work will be completed quickly.
