A number of signboards and nameplates written in English were smeared with black paint by a mobile court of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) during the drive in different parts of the city today.

City Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury inaugurated the drive at Kazir Deuri area of the city this morning.  CCC Executive Magistrate Marufa Begum Nelly led the operation.

The signs belonged to various businesses including mobile phone outlets, ceramic outlets and departmental stores.
