C T Online Desk: CCC has decided to name the most important road of the city from Barik Building to the airport as “ Sheikh Hasina Road”.The decision was taken unanimously at the 12th general meeting of the 6th council of CCC on Tuesday morning, said the Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation Rezaul Karim Chowdhury.
The mayor said the initiative was taken out of gratitude for the sincerity shown by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the development of Chittagong, especially for the approval of Tk 2,491 crore without any matching fund. He also announced to place a plaque on the grave of MA Hannan, the first public leader to declare independence on behalf of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and to erect a plaque commemorating the great personalities of Chittagong who have contributed in various fields.Conducted by CCC CEO Mohammad Shahidul Alam, the meeting was spoken among others panel mayor Gias Uddin, Afroza Kalam, Secretary Khaled Mahmud, Chief Revenue Officer Nazrul Islam, Chief Education Officer Lutfun Nahar, Chief Health Officer Selim Akhter Chowdhury, Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam Manik, Private Secretary to the Mayor Muhammad Abul Hashem, Councilors and Reserved Councilors.
