Police set to prevent any rowdy attack: IGP

C T Online Desk: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has said that the police force is set to face any challenge and thwart any rowdy attack.

He made the remarks while responding to a reporter question after inaugurating ‘IGP Cup Mymensingh Division Premier Cricket League’ at Circuit House Maath in Mymensingh on Monday noon.

“Police is a professional force. We have been doing our duties with success for a long time. The force has ability to face any challenge in future. There is no doubt in this regard,” he said.

“We are doing our duties professionally and properly. If offenders carry out aggressive attacks on us during our duties, we will resist them.”

On the militancy, he said that they were combating militants in the line with the zero tolerance policy announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The militancy and terrorism had been brought under control, the IGP claimed.

Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) Mayor Iqramul Haque Titu, Additional IGP Barrister Harun-Or-Rashid and Mymensingh Range DIG Debdas Bhattacharya were, among others, present on the occasion.
