C T Online Desk: Electronic gate is being launched at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport for hassle-free travel of international passengers.
The program will be officially inaugurated on Tuesday (November 15) through 6 e-gates. Out of these 3 gates will allow international passengers to depart and 3 gates to arrive. In 2020, e-Passport was launched in the country ahead of Machine Readable Passport (MRP).
In continuation of this, the latest automatic border control system or E-Gate was launched on June 7, 2022. Director of Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport, Wing Commander Taslim Ahmed said, “Tuesday, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Md. Mahbub Ali is scheduled to officially inaugurate 6 e-gates. Through this, Chittagong Airport is also going one step further in the ranks of international airports.
