Ctg Customs to destroy 73 container goods

C T Online Desk:  The Chattogram  custom house has taken the initiative to empty 73 containers  filled  goods  by destroying expired, unusable and rotten goods due to non-clearance after import.

On Sunday (November 13), Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Custom House Muhammad Mahfuz Alam confirmed the matter.

He said that according to the decision of the Chittagong Port Expired Goods Destruction Committee held on October 25, 73 containers of goods will be destroyed as per the standing order issued by the National Board of Revenue. In these 15 lot containers, there are 15 dry containers with reefers inside the port. There are 61 containers of various off-dock dry goods.

These containers contain perishable and biodegradable (degradable) ginger, betel nuts, dates, juices, carola seeds, fish food, fish, etc. He said that from Monday (November 14) 15-20 containers of goods will be destroyed every day in Halishahar Anand Bazar. Customs plans to phase out all listed containers in an environmentally sound manner.
