C T Online Desk: For the first time, a two-day long Danottam Kathin Cheebar Donotsav and reception ceremony has been completed at Adharmanik Sardharmalo Bhavna Kuthir in Raozan upazila , Chittagong.
On the closing day on November 4 (Friday), the highest Buddhist religious Priest of Bangladesh, the 13th Sangharaj Dr.Geyanshree Mahasthabir who received the Ekushey Padak , and the 29th Sanghanak Professor Bhadanta.Banashree Mahathir were the guest of honor in this auspicious ceremony at the natun bazar area of Adharmanik village of East Guzra Union of the upazila. The chief preacher was the founder and director of Saddharmalo Bhavna Kuthira, Aryashrabak Bhadanta Shilananda Mahasthavir (Dhutanga Bhantha).
He said that by avoiding violence and anger and being bound by the bonds of friendship, everyone should live in happiness and peace regardless of caste, religion and caste by practicing the Buddha’s teachings.
Chairman of East Gujra Union Parishad, brave freedom fighter Abbas Uddin Ahmed was the chief guest on the occasion. Executive Engineer Pintu Chakma of Chittagong Division’s Roads and Highways Department gave a welcome speech.
Conducted by Bihar Principal Vimukti Bhikskhu and moderated by teachers Priyanka Barua and Tumen Barua, Kuthir’s dedicated servants Riton Barua, Anil Barua, Jesus Barua, Dr. Rajeev Barua, Usha Kiran Barua, Teacher Purvi Barua, Teacher Chandan Barua, Adesh Barua, Milan Barua, Vidyut Barua, Teacher Sadhan Barua. In addition, thousands of pious Buddhists from different parts of the country gathered in this ceremony.
The special attraction of this event was the donation of cheeber by making clothes from cotton and yarn within 24 hours. A banquet was organized for thousands of guests on the occasion.
