Liton skips Tigers’ practice session in Adelaide

C T Online Desk: Bangladesh batsman Liton Das opted to skip the Friday’s practice session at Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide after he sustained an hamstring injury during his team’s previous match against India.

Liton, who struck a blistering knock of 60 off 27 balls, suffered the injury while taking a single during the eighth over of Bangladesh run chase.

The right-hander was seen struggling with his running and he was run out in the next ball of the same over.

After Liton’s dismissal, Bangladesh failed to keep the momentum set by him and lost the game by five runs in the D/L Method at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday.

An official of the Bangladesh Cricket Board who is with the team revealed that Liton stayed back at the team hotel – Hilton Adelaide – on Friday but he had been doing fine.

“He’s doing fine. We are monitoring his situation. I think he will be alright,” said the official.

Bangladesh will face Pakistan in their last Group 2 match at Adelaide Oval on Sunday and they will be desperately looking to get the service of Liton in the match.

Meanwhile, Indian batsman Virat Kohli presented one of his bats to Liton after the end of the match between Bangladesh and India on Wednesday.
