Ctg A-level student Himadri killing: HC upholds death penalty of 3, acquits 2

C T Online Desk: The High Court (HC) has upheld the death sentences of three people in a sensational case filed for killing A-level student Himadri Majumder Himu in 2012.

The HC bench of Justice Bhishmadev Chakraborty and Justice Khondkar Diliruzzaman announced the verdict on Thursday.

The condemn convicts are— Jahedul Islam Shaon, Mahboob Ali Khan Danny and Junaid Ahmed Riad.

However, the court acquitted Shah Selim Tipu and Md Shahadat Hossain Saju who also got death sentence by the trial court.

On August 14 in 2016, a Chittagong court sentenced five persons to death in the sensational case.

According to the case statement, Himu was brutally beaten, dogs were unleashed upon him, and then he was pushed off a four-storey building in Panchlaish residential area of the port city on April 27, 2012. He died at a hospital in Dhaka on May 23 the same year.

Himu was a student of Summerfield School and College in Chittagong.
