C T Online Desk: Jan 26, 2022 – Two people died and 1,455 people were detected positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours after testing 4,265 samples in 16 Covid-19 laboratories in the district.
Chattogram district recorded the second highest 34.13 percent Covid-19 positivity rate till Wednesday morning since the outbreak of the pandemic spread.
With the new cases, the total number of Covid-19 patients climbed to 1,14, 915 in the district, Dr Ilias Chowdhury, civil surgeon of Chattogram said.
The number of positive cases continues rising rapidly in the last four weeks amid a declining trend in the recovery rate of the infected patients.
At the same time, the number of healed Covid-19 patients rose to 97,102 with the recovery of 204 more patients during the time in the district. The average recovery rate currently stands at 84.52 percent in the Chattogram city and district.
With two more new deaths recorded during the period, the death toll rose to 1,348 in the district.
A total of 2142 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals here.
