C T Online Desk: As part of the program announced by the Central Committee of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Okkya Parishad, the leaders and workers sat on a mass hunger strike in Andarkilla square of the city. The hunger strike, which started on Saturday (October 22) morning with various demands will continue till the evening, the concerned said.
The Oikya Parishad’s demands include: Government party’s promises in the 2018 election manifesto- speedy implementation of Minority Protection Act, Elimination of Discrimination Act, Enactment of Intestate Property Conservation Act, formation of National Commission for Minorities, Transfer of Vested Property Act, Hill Peace Accord and Hill Land Dispute Settlement Commission Act and Formation of a separate land commission for the tribals of the plains.
Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Parishad-Chittagong Metropolitan President Engineer Parimal Chowdhury and General Secretary Advocate Nitai Prasad Ghosh urged everyone to make the morning-evening mass hunger strike a success.
