C T Online Desk: Police on Thursday morning recovered the body of a woman from Mahesh canal under Doublemooring police station in Chattogram city.
The identity of the woman couldn’t be known immediately but the age of the woman would be around 40 years, the police said.
Local people on Thursday morning spotted the body floating on Mahesh canal and informed police about the incident, Mukur Chakma, assistant commissioner (Doublemooring zone) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, told New Age.
‘We have recovered the body and sent it to Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations,’ he said.
‘There was no injury marks in the body. Still it is not clear to us if it is a murder,’ he said.
Police were investigating the incident and were trying to find the identity of the woman, he added.
