C T Online Desk: Sitakunda Thana police arrested 63 residents of Jangal Salimpur on their way to Dhaka for the purpose of human chain. They were detained from the passenger bus on Saturday.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sitakunda Police Station Abul Kalam Azad said, 63 people from Jungle Salimpur were arrested from two buses of Shanti Paribahan and Paharika Paribahan. The arrested have been kept in Sitakunda police station. After verification, the culprits will be sent to court. If anyone is innocent, they will be released.Mentionable that the evicton drive is being conducted by the Chattogram district administration against the illegal occupiers of govt land in Jungle salimpur under Sitakunda thana adjoining the metropolitan areas.
