Banshkhali Police-BNP clash: 450 accused

C T Online Desk:  Three cases have been registered in connection with the clash between BNP leaders and activists in Chittagong’s Banshkhali upazila. .

About 450 leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates were accused in this. On Friday (August 26) night, the police filed these cases under various categories including vandalism, obstructing police work. Kamal Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Banskhali police station confirmed the matter. He said, first attempt was made to vandalize vehicles from the BNP procession. At that time, when they were stopped, they attacked the police. At least 15 policemen were injured.

Three separate cases have been filed in this incident. In these cases, 66 people have been named and 300-400 others have been unidentified..

Among the injured are Assistant Superintendent of Police (Anowara Circle). Humayun Kabir, Banskhali police station OC Kamal Uddin, Police Inspector Investigation SM Arifur Rahman, SI Nazrul Islam, ASI Nazrul Islam, Constables Minhaj Uddin, Main Uddin, Biplab Dey, Abdul Quader and Mofiz Alam, district police sources added.
