Because of the dress code, Bengali clothes punjabi are banned there .No guest will be allowed to enter there while wearing this Punjabi. It is known that during the British period in 1876 tea plantation owner W. A. Campbell took the initiative to establish the Chittagong Club.Chittagong Club was established as a social club on August 23, 1878. The club was incorporated on 27 March 1901 but was approved as a registered company in 1908. In 2012-13 a 4 storied building was constructed for members.Many prominent personalities and businessmen of Chittagong were not allowed to enterclub wearing Punjabi dress.
