C T Online Desk: Meerjady Sabrina Flora, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services, is currently on life support in Singapore.
A highly placed official at the DGHS confirmed the matter to Bangla Tribune on Sunday.
She has been undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital for the last one week, according to media reports.
The senior official was put on life support following complications during surgery.
The DGHS is preparing to brief the media regarding her condition, reports Bangla Tribune.
Sabrina Flora, who became known for the Covid briefings when the pandemic first hit, heads the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19.
On August 13, 2020, she was promoted to the post of additional director general of health services. Before that, she served as the director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research.
Dr Flora completed her MBBS from Dhaka Medical College. After that she went on to work at the Bangladesh Medical Research Council and the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine. She also has a PhD from the University of Cambridge.
